Johanna C. Nilsson, Founder &  CEO

Johanna C. Nilsson is the Founder & CEO of Herringbone — a San Francisco-based marketing agency that creates, executes and manages authentic social media campaigns. In addition to her duties at Herringbone, Ms. Nilsson regularly speaks about the benefits of content curation and social media marketing at business gatherings across the globe. She is the co-author of Social CRM For Dummies (Wiley, 2011) and the widely cited research paper “Wireless Advertising Effectiveness: Evaluation of an SMS Advertising Trial” (2000).

A 2001 graduate of the Stockholm School of Economics, Ms. Nilsson leads Herringbone’s interdisciplinary team of consultants, all of whom work alongside entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMBs, publicly held firms and others in the pursuit of authentic and results-driven online engagement campaigns.

Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, Ms. Nilsson is certified as a co-active coach through The Coaches Training Institute, and is a co-founder and board member of Futura Factory, a Swedish nonprofit that encourages networking and entrepreneurial thinking and action. Previously, Ms. Nilsson served on the board of Fearless Women Entrepreneurs and the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce San Diego.
